The principal

Worcester Bosch Greenskies FK240 Solar Panels Harness the power in both direct and diffused sunlight and convert the energy to heat for the production of hot water for the home.

The solar panels have been designed as a complement to existing heating systems which use a store of hot water in a cylinder. The existing cylinder is exchanged for a cylinder with two heat exchanger coils' one from the boiler in the home and a second from the solar panels themselves.

The Worcester Bosch Greenskies FK240 Solar Panels are an ideal partner to the new range of Greenstar regular and system boilers, all available from Cheltenham Heating, with different models available in Oil and Gas. When used together, a Greenstar boiler with Solar system provides a highly efficient system to give heating and hot water comfort.

A typical well designed solar system should provide around 55% of the hot water requirements, representing a very worthwhile saving in hot water heating costs. The remaining hot water requirement is provided by the boiler.

We can design and integrate the BOSCH FK240 solar system into most applications, ie. Combination Boilers, Conventional systems....even swimming pools!

FAQ's

Q. I get a brochure in the paper or pushed though the door about Solar all the time, surely this is just the same rubbish?
A. No, this system has been manufactured, tried and tested in Germany for 30 years. BOSCH Gmbh. wholly own the Solar factory and design and the German market is incredible. Almost 55% of the European market is taken by Germany in Solar energy use. Half of that market is the BOSCH system. Older expensive systems really gave Solar heating a bad name in the past. Much the same as double glazing was! This system is a REAL alternative that will not only be more cost effective but highly efficient in use too. BOSCH are synonymous for Quality!

Q. Where can they be fitted?
A. Surpisingly, not just on the roof. They can be fitted pretty much anywhere although a sotherly direction is most efficient. We can provide a free of charge site survey and recommend the best installation location.

Q. Who can fit them and how long are they guaranteed for?
A. Anyone can buy the BOSCH solar system, However it must be installed by one of only 80 specialist installers in the UK to comply with all of the installation and commissioning criteria and to qualify for the FIVE year warranty. Otherwise the system will only be guaranteed for a statutory one year period if installed by DIY or non competent installer.

Q. Is there any Government funding available?
A. YES! The Department of Trade and Industry (DTi) is funding an initiative called "Clearskies" which entitles homeowners and non profit organisations to financial help with a Solar system. Householders can apply for a grant of £400 regardless of system size.

For more information on Solar funding contact us or visit the Clearskies website here. We can help you through the application process or alternatively visit the Clearskies site to do it yourself!

Q. What about VAT! Do I have to pay it on Solar panels?
A. The VAT on Solar systems varies depending on who is installing it. DIY solar systems carry 17.5% VAT. A system which is installed by a professional installer, I.e. US! only carries 5% VAT!

Fitting solar is relatively straightforward. No black magic involved. here we can see the first of the brackets that support the solar panels going into place on a traditional concrete tiled roof.
